About Daastan

Daastan exists because talent has never been the scarce thing in Pakistan — access has. A writer with a finished manuscript and no contacts had nowhere obvious to take it, and we set out to be that place.

We handle a book end to end: editing, cover and interior design, an ISBN from our own registered block, printing, and distribution to bookshops and online. Royalties are paid on every copy sold and tracked on a dashboard the author can open any day of the week.

A book does not end at the printer, so neither do we. Launches, literary evenings and festival appearances put our writers in front of readers, and a title stays on sale long after its publication day.

Earlier Pakistani writers could only dream of getting published. Now it is easier with the more than supportive team of Daastan which is now more of a family to me. Amazing experience publishing my first book with Daastan.

Engineering for Humanity is a refreshing and thought-provoking read. It beautifully connects technology with compassion and purpose. The author’s vision of making engineering serve people is inspiring. Each page reflects passion, curiosity, and a drive to create real change. Hiraeth is blend of rhyming and non rhyming parts which makes its interesting and tricky at the same time. . The elements that we find in Hiraeth and it's poetry is Home, longing to someone or something,The truth of time, the attachment to past Incidents. . Simple things like a door knob can put you in a whole nostalgic situation is just amazing that how unnoticeable things like a door knob can give you chills about your home and past. .

It's my first time that I read a story in which every emotion was expressed with sorrow and pity ....the way she describes her feeling really made me feel sorry for her. The writing was awesome and words compilation was great.
