ABOUT AUTHORS
Mr. Hamza Iftikhar is an accomplished researcher and academic with extensive experience in Entomology and Apiculture. He previously served as Lecturer at The Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, and as a Medical Entomologist in District Shangla and District Khyber. He has published 12 peer-reviewed articles, 24 book chapters in reputable national and international journals and one book for young agriculturists. His primary field of expertise is apiculture, where he has made significant contributions to honeybee research, management, and conservation. He has supervised fourteen B.Sc students, guiding them through research projects and fostering scientific inquiry. Additionally, he is a recognized reviewer for the Pakistan Journal of Weed Science Research, reflecting his standing in the scientific community. With a strong combination of teaching, research, and field experience, Mr. Hamza continues to advance knowledge in entomology while mentoring the next generation of scientists.
Dr. Syed Majid Rasheed is currently works as Assistant Professor in the department of Plant Breeding and Genetics at The University of Agriculture, Swat. Previously He was serving as Assistant Professor at The Bacha Khan University, Charsadda for eleven years. Dr. Majid Rasheed served as Plant Breeder in a project named Establishment of Facilitation Unit for Participatory Vegetable Seed and Nursery Production Program under the umbrella of Ministry of Food and Agriculture. He has vast teaching and research experience. He has supervised five M.Sc (Hons) students. He has published more than 30 articles in well reputed journals. His research experience encompasses cereal breeding, oil seed breeding and vegetable breeding (Okra). One of his okra varieties is under varietal evaluation trial and will be presented before seed council for registration in the coming year. He is also working on Black wheat and is involved in breeding black wheat with local cultivars.
Mr. Atta Ul Wahab is a researcher in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering with a Master’s degree and specialized expertise in crop molecular genetics and genomics. His research work focuses on enhancing crop resilience and food security through advanced genomic analysis. With a strong record of peer reviewed publications, he integrates computational analysis and field-based research to advance data-driven crop breeding. As an active member of the AFOB Asian Federation of Biotechnology, he is committed to sustainable agriculture and regularly contributes to the scientific community through conferences, seminars and training programs.
Ms. Iqra Ghafoor holds an MSc (Hons.) in Agronomy from MNS University of Agriculture, Multan. She has strong technical expertise in crop modeling, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable and regenerative farming systems, IoT applications in agriculture, crop and soil nutrition management, crop physiology, and biodiversity profiling, with a focus on community-based biodiversity conservation and resilient farming practices. She has hands-on experience in project management and has also contributed to addressing gender equality, decent work, sustainable livelihoods, and disaster management under climate change scenarios. She has completed 65 professional courses and has authored eight research articles and one book chapter published in impact factor journals, reflecting her commitment to research excellence and sustainable development.
Ms. Aleena Jalal is a distinguished graduate in Entomology from The University of Agriculture, Peshawar, where she secured first position in the Department with a CGPA of 3.89/4.00. She has demonstrated notable academic and research excellence through her work on insect rearing systems for biological control and applied studies on botanical insecticides for pest management. As a published researcher, she has contributed to peer-reviewed scientific literature and has actively participated in professional trainings and workshops related to sustainable agriculture, biological control, and entomological research.
