CHAPTER ONE
The Journey
They had a burning desire, that had to be fulfilled.
Three close friends, since childhood, who knew each others
secrets and inner thoughts.
Their names were Susan, Tilly and Jeffrey. They were to begin
a journey of a lifetime, or so they thought!
They were all so very excited, and could not contain themselves.
The wait was over. This had been months of planning, which had
to be accomplished.
Susan was the eldest, in years of age. She was the spearhead.
The leader of the pack.
They were American citizens, and resided in Boston,
Massachusetts, USA.
They were to embark on a journey to an island off the Indian
Ocean, about 7,626 miles in distance. The travelling would be
immensely gruelling, and would sap the energy from them.
This was a known fact.
On a radiant day in June, they all converged at Tilly’s house.
Euphoria was ever present, they were floating on thin air. Susan
said to Tilly and Jeffrey “Have you packed enough belongings?”
Tilly replied “Yes, I have a mountain load”. Jeffrey did not reply at
first, then said “I have enough”.
They discussed every detail - their journey, with the imminent
departure looming. It was get, set and go.
They said goodbye to their families and made their way towards
a local bus, which took them to their destination - Boston Port
Harbour. When they arrived, it really sank in, that this wasw really
happening. The wheels were in motion, so to speak.
Susan was an experienced sailor, and would be the captain.
They were all courageous souls. They boarded their boat, which was
luxurious and the cabin below had enough space for three. The boat
was named ‘The High Flyer’, befitting Susan’s description exactly.

CHAPTER TWO
All Onboard
All three were insistent on settling down, becoming familiar
with their surroundings. There was a chance Tilly could become
claustrophobic, as this was her first time onboard ‘The High Flyer’.
They all had to steady their nerves.
They felt nostalgic. The boat had a large mast, which would
help in steering it against the wind. They took to the waters. A
treacherous journey ahead, the baot was well equipped, with safety
features in place.
They passed boulders and cliff edges, with clouds, slight mist,
hanging in the balance. Of course, they needed sustenance, they
had packed enough food to last for weeks, if not months. Tilly would
prepare their first meal of the evening. It was a simple cottage pie,
but at least the effort was made, thought Jeffrey. Back at home,
food would be sumptuous, cooked to perfection. With little utensils
to use, they were at a loss end.
They sat at an oval table, with knifes and forks at the ready.
“Mmmmm” said Jeffrey, and Tilly was proud as punch.
They sky turned dark, then midnight came. They had no real
sense of time. It was not like back in the USA, you had real clocks,
which you obeyed. Every minute and every hour. Tilly began yawning.
It was getting increasingly late, they fought against it for a while,
but e
